The Unpublished Works of Mahc Beau: Sketches of Our Imagination

On the streets of Lagos, Nigeria, a boy-child with a fascination for books and book collecting would spend his time sorting after books to rescue them, to shelter them and to own them. The presence of these books, rather than the content had an unusual effect on this young dreamer. The realisation of one’s dream in the current of life's vicissitudes takes discipline of mind, perseverance, and imagination. Alas! The conception of a book was in transit.

Mahc Beau is a contemporary writer and poet, a director of photography and perfumer. His poetry is both performance-based as well as written. Excerpts from the book have been performed on various platforms including the Islington Arts and Media School’s Book Fair Launch and several musical showcases in London. He is a poet of our times, today’s creative writer with an added distinguished edge. The aspect that separates this writer from others is the juxtaposition of photography and perfume with a meta-narrative memoir.

His recurring visual themes are romance, beauty, solitude, and dialogue. Each image was imagined and the production process ensued, resulting in a bespoke fit to synchronise with the poetry. There is an interlinking chord between the fragrances' notes, the images created, and the stories they illustrate.
